*Deep River 1980’s
"Sphere Shaped Lights"
The town of Deep river, located on the Ottawa River, was established as the residence community for the personnel employed by Atomic Energy of Canada at nearby Chalk River. Over
the years reports of UFO activity over both the town of Deep River and the village of Chalk River with its nuclear reactors have been plentiful. "Bright sphere shaped lights have been traveling at phenomenal speeds through
the trees and at least fifteen people have witnessed and recounted these bizarre occurrences. Sounds like science fiction ? Apparently all of the fifteen witnesses have seen more than they're willing to say, but all steadfastly
refuse to return to the sea." So mysteriously wrote an Ottawa Valley resident Heather Pettipas in "Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind" in Downstream: A Deep River and Area Literary/Art review (1983) compiled by
P.A. Carver.

Summary : A white object like a dinner plate was going on to west side of our house at a very high speed and there was no smoke behind it. White colored dinner plate
like structure moving at a very high speed with no wings like airplanes attached to it.
Near Owen Sound Sept. 2nd 1983
Distinctly triangular object, appeared to be translucent but
glowing orange, like an ember (hundreds if not thousands of small pin pricks of yellowish and orangish lights moving sequentially and linearly, some brighter than others, but not flashing per se, though there was a distinct pulsating appearance to the lights). Appeared hot, again like a burning coal in a fire. No noise whatsoever. Trajectory towards the north. Size and speed hard to judge against a perfectly starlit sky, but estimated that it was 20-50 m wide at the triangular base, provided that it was 200-500 m above ground as I estimated. Could have have been much larger if higher. I saw it directly overhead, until it disappeared over a small hill. Maybe 10-12 seconds in total, so it appeared to be subsonic.
I'm a professional field biologist and a so-called "highly
trained observer." I also grew up on CDN air force bases, so am intimately familiar with aircraft of all shapes and sizes. At the time of the sighting reported, I had NO IDEA what I had seen. 15 years later, I could be convinced that this was an early test of the stealth fighter/bomber, given the similarity in its configuration (delta-winged, triangular shaped with unknown "stealth" capacities). I have no tangible evidence proving this sighting. I did report it to my wife, who happened to be in the outhouse at the time (even as I as personally shittin bricks!), and missed the whole thing. As as quasi-professional artist, I painted a full colour picture of the object about 6 months after the sighting, based upon a sketch I did a day or two later. It took me a long time to get my head around this (and I'm still not sure that I have); I was quite excited about what I had seen, but also quite numbed by it, especially since I didn't have any corroborating evidence. It was like witnessing a traffic accident, where everything seems sort of like a dream, and yet is burned into the memory receptors permanently, but you're still not entirely sure that it was you who witnessed what you saw. It's like the brain doesn't quite recognize the input it's receiving as being valid somehow, and then you start to doubt your own eyes
Mississauga ON Early 80's
I am not sure of the year although it was sometime in the early 80's. I wish I had reported this then or made notes. Maybe this is the time? We were at a friends apartment
in Mississauga near the QEW and Erin Mills Parkway.
It was summer time in the afternoon. The skies were blue with little or no clouds. The apartment was fairly high up. 7-10 floors facing north. I was inside when my friends start to yell. I ran to the balcony. Standing on the balcony looking north, the Credit River to our right, runs from Lake Ontario behind us, north. In the distance we can see Erindale University. There Credit River forms a natural green belt. Not more than 2km's to our right, hovering slowly and quietly south down the Credit River about 500m above the ground was a saucer or disk shaped object (craft). There were no lights. I remember distinctly that it looked weathered. Rusty, brown, black. It looked like it had been exposed to the elements. I would estimate that it would have been 200m from end to end. Fairly low profile compared to the size. The craft continued to slowly hover south for approximately 45 seconds. It was hard to tell if it was spinning. It then stop for 15 seconds. It rose instantly about 500-1000m straight up. Stop briefly then appeared to take off south and vanish again silently. I do not believe any of my friends that were there that day ever reported their sightings. I looked for other reports in the papers for a couple of weeks, but never read or heard of another sighting of this object. This experience has effected the way that I live my life. Sudbury, ON July 23, 1987 2am
Object paced a line of trucks for approx 1/2 hour
Object appeared to be oval for most of the event, changing to cigar shaped, tapering to rear when it left. Neon orange, with shifting reds. I am
ex-navy, object appeared to be the size of the USS Ranger. I do not want to believe this thing was a craft. I would love to entertain any other explanation. I can't.

Toronto ON 1981 Exact Date Unknown
"My father has always been a space enthusiast. Anything to do with astronomy and the like had his attention, Star Trek was huge with him, (anything to do with Gene Rodenbury...or what ever it is, I distance myself
lol), he knew every episode word for word.
Anyhow,I was about 4 years old and my mom worked midnights, so he and I were left alone for the night. I had a strict bedtime routine and was always in bed *officially* by nine
PM, but I was one of those kids that had an excuse every five minutes to be out of bed. Around 10, I knew he was getting upset so I went to bed and started dozing off.
I am guessing it was about 11PM, my father came
busting into the bedroom, and scooped me out of bed. He was practically glowing with excitement! I really didn't know what he was saying to me at the time because he was talking extremely fast.
Anyway he whisked me out
to our balcony. We lived on the (exact address removed for privacy) Apt building in the West End of Toronto. Looking to the left, we had a gordeous view of Lake Ontario and I loved watching the sail boats after dinner during
sunset.
He pointed out over the lake and there it was, a huge craft of some type. It was glowing different coloured lights and was just hovering there. I remember distinctly having the hair on the back of my neck and my
arms stand staight up. I begged him to take me in. He was so mesmerized by it. Like a little boy in a candy store, as this is what he'd always hoped to see. He did take me back to bed and asked if I knew what I had just seen. I
told him I did and I was scared.
Anyhow that always stuck with me because he still brings it up from time to time, he still gets that lit up look when he talks about it.
The closest I can come to describing it is
to an album cover my mom used to have...strangely enough around the same time she listened to it like crazy, E.L.O. has a record with a UFO on the cover and thats is EXACTLY what this thing looked like. My father had/has the
exact same description."
Our thanks to the witness for sharing this report with us. Please note that there are several well documented cases very similar to this one that involve Lake Ontario two are listed
above also reported from 1981. If you have seen something similar please contact us.
Peterborough ON September 1983 9-9:30 PM
On a farm in 1983 in the Peterborogh area.It was about 9-9:30pm and dark outside.
We were sitting in the living room when the cattle in the field began to bawl loudly.Being mostly farm or country kids,5 of us decided to
check it out ,wondering if dogs or coyotes were bothering the cowa and calves.
We had checked the fence line and walked amongst the cows, but couldn`t see anything, the cattle wer e bunched up in the middle of the field
and remained agitated,we thought that we check out the barn, but saw nothing there either.
We then stopped just outside the barn to talk and have a smoke before going back into the house. As we were talking the hairs on my
head stood up and I had the desire to look up,as I looked up I noticed a large tear dropped shape object hovering about 200 meters over our heads. It was luminous and stationary and remained there for approximately another 30
seconds before it suddenly shot straight up and disappeared from view.
We immediately headed back to the house.

Constance Bay/Carp/Arnprior April or May 1980
In 1980, in either April or May, driving with my Mom from Constance Bay Ontario to Arnprior Ontario at approx:11:00 pm. We were on the Kinburn side road at 10th line road, traveling towards Arnprior, we looked to
the right and saw a very bright flash of light. We thought it was a very large plane, but soon we knew it was not. Within minutes the lights came upon us and my Mom was speeding faster in our car trying to get away from these
lights. The lights were now above our car and they did not move in front of us, behind or beside us so we could not see where they went. I opened my window and looked out and the lights were right above our car, hovering, I
remember my Mom screaming for me to get my head back in the car, but I wanted to look, I had to look. She pulled me back into the vehicle and said to watch for it to come over on the other side. She sped up and it took another
2 or 3 minutes until the lights came over to my Mom's side of the car. They hovered again, then they shot away in a flash or like a streak. We got home, even though we both do not remember how we did get home. We both remember
what happened when the lights were there, but we cannot tell you what happened from when the lights disappeared until the next morning when we awoke. When we did wake up, both us of looked at each other and said "was that
real?" We told my Dad, we told all of our family, but to this day both Mom and I still remember it like it was yesterday. The lights when they first appeared with that flash were like 2 lights, thats why we thought it was
a plane, but when it got closer, you could see that it was 3 very large bright white lights. When the lights were over the top of the vehicle, they were in the shape of a triangle. They were very very bright white, no other
colour. When they came to my Mom's side of the car they were still very bright and large, and then they disappeared in a streak like movement. We never saw them again, my Grandmother lives just a few house from where this
happened, she did not see anything.

Toronto ON August 1987
My older sister and I were playing on our second floor veranda. Our house is situated at Lansdowne Avenue, just north of Bloor street West in Toronto. Our Veranda faces west and affords us a not so lovely view of a very
large factory.
It was about 5pm and my sister(age 9) pointed out to me (age 6) a strange object in the sky west of us. I don't know what made her first take notive of it. It was perfectly still in the sky, not moving at
all. It was longer in width than height, about a 3:1 ratio. It was oval/egg shaped but more like an egg that had been somewhat flattened. It was definitely metallic because I remember the sun was glistening off of it's surface.
After about 20 or 30 seconds, it seemed to stretch out slowly and get longer. My sister and I didn't make a peep to eachother. It was the strangest thing. We were both focused like laser beams on the darned thing. I sometimes
wonder if it just seemed to get longer because it was getting closer to us, but I can';t be sure. It then started moving very slowly in a northernly direction. After about another 20 or 30 seconds it shot straight up and away
from us in a North west direction. It was in the blink of an eye, shocked the living hell out of us. It's like it just shot straight up into space. I don't know why, but I felt an amazing sigh of relief when it was gone.
We told our Mom what we saw and she got angry and told us to get inside the house and never mention to anyone what we saw.
It was years later that my Mom told us that she used to see strange things in the sky when
she was growing up in the Azores. In her time, people who mentioned such things would sometimes go missing, so no one dared to speak of such sightings. My experience pales to some of my mothers sightings. I am still trying to
convince her to jot them down on the net.
