 Hamilton Ontario July 1st 2008 Approx 11pm

Canada Day 2008 my family and I were sitting atop the mountain brow with hundreds of firecracker enthusiasts watching the show they put on at Bayfront park. The sky was very dark/cloudy, no moon, no stars and I was distracted from looking down over the city and I watched 2 planes circle above. What I thought was a third plane flickered from Burlington area towards us, not a flicker more like a blip one second I thought it was a third plane, next second it was right there over our harbour and then in a blink of an eye there were these 6 beautiful pink firecrackers that SLOWLY fell to the water. These pink firecrackers were so slow and so beautiful they lit up ALL of the water and the crowd ooohed and aaaahed and I seemed to be the only one freaking about how they suddenly appeared there and fell to the water. Walking back to the car just before 11pm my kids pointed out the one and only brightest "star" in the sky (which was there for hours after). I'd like to know what that "3rd blip of a plane was" and if it dropped those pink slow fading fireworks into the water tonight.

Our thanks to the witness for this report.
