Barrie, Ontario UFO Report  August 1981 Approx. 11pm

I was at a van-in outside Barrie, Ontario, just enjoying the evening outdoor party. Myself and a friend were walking through the van-in when we came across this guy looking up at clear, no moon nighttime sky. We asked him what he was looking at, and he pointed, saying, "there's something up there".

My friend and I both looked up but couldn't see anything but stars.  My friend just gave up, but I kept asking the guy where it was, and he kept guiding me to the spot. Finally I did see it. It was a black triangle doing a quick side-to-side movement between two stars. No lights, the only reason you could see it was because it blocked out the light of deep space behind it.

It looked to be way up there, at least 20,000 feet, though the size was hard to judge. The instant I saw it, I knew it's movements were highly unusual, not the movements of conventional aircraft.  Mildly shocked, I looked over at the guy, speechless. Only recently did I remember that I then felt a bit afraid of this guy.

Why?  Because, after the initial shock of seeing a UFO, my first earth-bound thought was, "how in the world did this guy ever see that thing?!" At that time of my life my eyes had been measured at 17/20 vision in left eye, and 15/20 in my right.  I worked as a photographer and had eagle eyes, but even I could just barely make this thing out. I knew right away that the odds of anyone spotting this thing in the middle of a party were extremely unlikely, and that combined with the sighting itself kind of spooked me.

Anyway, my buddy never saw anything and he wanted to go so we thanked the guy and went back to the party. I guess someone could say that I was just drunk, or that the guy was a hypnotist, but I don't care.  I know what I saw.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this with us.
