(AP) A saucer-like unidentified flying object recently hovered above a woman's house south of Welland, Ont., she says.
"I was pretty freaked out, especially when it just vanished," said Sarah Staten. "It was moving too slow to be an airplane and it moved away too quickly to have been a helicopter."
Staten said the UFO approached from Lake Erie and hovered for 15 to 20 minutes above her home, located on Highway 3 about 15 kilometres south of Welland.
It then headed toward Welland, she said.
No air force equipment was being used in the Port Colborne area at the time the object was seen, said Capt. David Elit, a coast guard official at the Canadian Forces Base in Trenton.
A spokesman at the Welland-Port Colborne Airport said there were no flights at the time.
