Seen from Mississauga Ontario June 29th 2009 10:30pm

Unknown bright object saw tonight in the southeast skies over Toronto. I am not sure what exactly it was but I thought at first it was the ISS, but it's current orbit takes it over Europe right now so it wasn't it. It also wasn't an Iridium as it didn't fit the profile. It wasnt moving too fast but I had a lot of obstructions like trees and buildings and could not swing the Tele Vue Pronto into position. The motion was west to east in a downward trajectory. I thought I saw a vapour trail but that could have been my dirty glasses. It was not a commercial airliner as it had no other visible formation lights and did not follow the conventional flight path into or out of PIA.

Conclusions? Probably Earthly in origin, most likely a re-entry of some kind. But I don't know for sure.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this report.
